A monthly breathwork circle.
Live on Zoom. Open to anyone.
Sometimes all it takes is one hour of good hard breathing.
Each session opens with a short conversation. About the theme. How it feels alive in the group. It gives you time to settle in, but also to activate. To create something the breath can move through.
Then we breathe together for about thirty minutes.
Then we rest.
It sounds simple, because it is.
All you have to do is listen to the music and keep breathing.
You don't need experience. You don't need to know what you're doing. You just need somewhere to lie down and a willingness to show up.
What Actually Happens
We'll be using an active, rhythmic breath. You'll probably feel a little dizzy at first. Then maybe some tingling, usually starting in the hands. And then, if you stay with it, you'll experience a kind of breaking through.
What's happening, roughly, is that the part of the brain responsible for your narrative self — the inner editor, the critic, the part that tells the story about who you are — goes quiet. Not forever. Just long enough for something underneath to surface.
What follows is fifteen minutes of the deepest rest most people have felt in a long time. The heart rate slows. Muscles release. The brain, still in that quiet state, consolidates and receives.
You are your own medicine. The breath is simply what activates it.
May session — Surrender
Most of us are spending a great deal of energy holding on to what's no longer serving us.
Not because we want to. Because we don't know how to put it down.
Surrender isn't giving up. It isn't passivity. It's the act of stopping the fight against what's already true — and awakening to what becomes possible when you do.
We'll open the session in conversation. What are we holding out of habit. Out of fear. Out of resistance to what is already inevitable.
There's no demand to share. No demand to be vulnerable beyond the confines of your own vessel. This is simply an invitation to activate the internal system.
And then we breathe into it. The body leads. Like any meditation, the mind may resist at first. But the active breath, and the music, and the energy of the group, give it enough to cling to, and eventually, it will let go.
